Advice

Balancing earthwork on a site can make or break a deal in land development. While there are multiple scenarios that make grading more difficult, such as groundwater, rock, fault zones, hazardous materials, and stabilizing slopes; there are ways to design and balance the site to make your project cost efficient. There are always constraints to raising or lowering a site in specific areas and it takes a keen eye to understand how to raise or lower a site for your benefit, but in certain situations, balancing the dirt will save you from a huge import/export cost in the future. Performing a complete earthwork analysis is imperative to understanding the balance.
